Common Word Community Service Gilroy 2018 III
GILROY, California — On Sunday, December 23, 2018, more than fifty Christians and Muslims united to serve 200 meals to the homeless and hungry of Gilroy at St. Joseph’s Family Center. Br. Mohammed Idris Hussain of South Valley Islamic Community led volunteer orientation with Pastor Larry Albright of Lincoln Glen Church. Volunteers broke into small buddy groups to get acquainted before working alongside each other to prepare dinner. Br. Mohammed Idris Hussain once again barbecued his world-famous chicken to the delight of all guests and volunteers.
Many thanks to South Valley Islamic Community and Lincoln Glen Church for sponsoring; to Br. Mohammed Idris Hussain and Rev. Larry Albright for organizing and leading; to St. Joseph’s Family Center for hosting; and to all AAi donors who made this possible. Most of all, thanks be to God الحَمْد لله ברוך השם for providing the strength and resources for this united effort to serve our neighbors in need.
